Some football stuff

This is still my favourite picture ...:D

So Flamini went to AC Milan, and Hleb is speculated to leave for Barcelona, which might be part of a deal which will bring Kolo Toure's brother, Yaya Toure to the Emirates. Adebayor has also been linked to leave Arsenal for Barcelona or AC Milan.

Frankly I believe that if they have no interest in playing for Arsenal anymore, Arsenal should sell them at a hefty sum, instead of trying to retain them, as this will probably lead to unnecessary wage increments which will cause disgruntlement among the other dedicated players. Even though their departure may be a loss, for that case, Wenger should negotiate the highest price possible so Arsenal will be able to use that money to buy more players.

On that note, I'm glad we beat the Devils in the signing of the hottest property outside the Premier League, Aaron Ramsey from Cardiff City. He inherits Flamini's number 16, but he's more of an attacking midfielder than a defensive one. I guess players would prefer to join a team whose manager personally flies you and your parents to Switzerland for a nice dinner to get to know you, rather than a team whose manager prefers to spend his holiday in the south of France and leaves recruitment duties to a team captain who hasn't seen first team action for almost a year eh?

Also, Mexican striker Carlos Vela, will return to play for Arsenal next season after being on loan in Spain, and Eduardo reportedly might be available for pre season training if all goes well. So I guess even if Adebayor leaves, we will have ample resources to find goals for the team. Oh, and Walcott's team number has been changed to no.14, iconic as it was the number of the Gunners' all time leading goal scorer, Thierry Henry. Hopefully he will succeed that position well.

Chose to support Spain before Euro 2008, because I was sure the combination of Torres and Fabregas would be lethal. So I'm very glad that Spain are in the finals, and since David Villa is injured, Aragones will hopefully opt for a 4-4-1-1 formation which will have Fabregas playing behind Torres. This worked so well in the semi final against Russia. This is actually the first time that a team I tip before the tournament actually reaches this far! (England, please learn something from this!)  But I was disappointed that my second choice team, the Oranje, fizzed out after such an impressive start. (Which other team can beat both world cup finalists with a 3 goal margin in the space of one week!)

Yup.. that's all for now. Now the picture of Stamford Bridge will not be the first image people see when they visit my blog!
